Proflowers.com Bait and Switch Practices

The site had a banner across the top of each page saying "20% off an order of $39 or more" yet when I checked out it did not give me the discount. I started over, double checked the banner, it said only "20% off of an order of $39 or more", no asterisk, nothing saying there were any strings attached. I entered all of the information all over again, and again did not get the discount. I called proflowers and they said the item I had chosen and the other funeral flowers were not available through them, only at proflowers floristexpress, and that when I clicked on the item I wanted, I was redirected (without my knowledge) to their "sister site" and that the discount was not available through them. I asked how they could have the 20% banner on top of the page of funeral flowers if none of them were going to get the discount? At this point I started to think this was intentional on their part and wondered how many people got stuck paying full price when the discount didn't work simply because they didn't have the time to enter all the funeral and other asst. information again elsewhere. In the middle of all this a virtual live agent offered me a 15% discount, which was ridiculous when the site said 20% off. Later they sent an email offering the 20% off they originally promised. Even if I hadn't already ordered elsewhere, I would have said "NO THANKS." Shop at this site at your own risk, it is riddled with strategies to charge people more than they are expecting to pay, offer a partial discount once you see you were not given one, and only give the published discount once you figure out their ridiculous ploy.

I tried to order the Succulent Garden plant, but when I was ready to pay, I received:

"Oops... the item you selected is temporarily unavailable.

But we've got other perfect gifts that are in stock and ready to ship!"

Hmmm, I decided to move the delivery date out a month and received the same Oops... I decided to order the Succuent Trio - which is three of the plants and surprise, surprise - no Oops - the Succulent Garden is in stock.

I am not happy with these people and will let Mark Levin know that he is dealing with a bunch of dishonorable people. I know Mark well enough that he will not want his name associated with this company.

ProFlowers review in Commack, New York: Pro Flowers - Buyer beware

I used Pro Flowers in May 2011, everything was perfect! However, in mid August i received phone call from Pro-Flowers. I was told they wanted to confirm my credit number for a credit. I would not give stranger my card number. So he told me my credit card number which shocked me that he knew it but when he asked me for my last four of my social security number!!!!!! I said no way and asked for his name, supervisor's name and telephone number. He gave me the information all of course was bogus!!! I called Pro-Flowers three times and they do not believe they have a bad person working inside the company. After immediately cancelling my credit card (which I never used for Internet transactions only in person or over the telephone that I made to companies) I called Pro Flowers to report it. During my first call talking to supervisor they seemed sincere and said they would investigate and call me back. They never did. (It's been over a week) I called again, second supervisor I spoke to only came up with wacky reasons why it was my fault. He would not entertain the fact that they might just have a insider using illegally obtained the credit card numbers customers give them over the phone. Supervisor had a bad attitude so of course, they have lost me as a customer. Pro Flowers mailed catalogs do not even give you the option to order via mailing in a check to place order. Thank god I cancelled my credit card! I rarely use the credit card and never on the Internet. I spoke to credit company and was told numerous bogus charges have been attempted to be charged to the closed account. Charges were denied due to my fast action. Beware of this company. I am convinced it's an inside job. How would they know I used Pro-Flowers?

ProFlowers review in Rochester, New York: Brown, crispy flowers for Mother's day.

My husband ordered me the 24 rainbow roses from ProFlowers. He also ordered the lavender spa kit and the chocolates to go with it to the tune of approximately $90. The roses look like complete ***, the spa stuff smells horrendous, and the chocolates were stale. I can assure you that we will NEVER order from them again. I tried to contact them, but they stated that there was nothing that could be done. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. For the expense, the quality should have been a lot better. Thanks, ProFlowers for ruining my Mother's day gift. I only hope all of yours are ruined as well.

Will never use an online company again to order flowers! What a nightmare.

Supposed to be delivered Saturday before Mother's day or on Mother's day and it's now Monday afternoon and they have still not been delivered! How embarressing to our mother that she received NOTHING.

I have now called 4 times and still have not gotten this nightmare resolved! DO NOT ORDER FROM PROFLOWERS.

I placed an order for 2 dozen assorted roses earlier this week for Mother's Day. I wanted them delivered on Friday so that they would be there on Saturday when I arrived.

I must say that I was very unhappy with the flowers. They were supposed to be assorted roses as shown on the website, but they were all red and white with two orange - no pink and no yellow. They were very skimpy and some of them looked as though they have already peaked with their appearance. Several of the white ones had brown, crispy edges on them.

I have ordered many times from other online florists and local florists and have NEVER received such a disappointment.

:(

ProFlowers review in Staten Island, New York: Disappointed!

I received 2 dozen roses for Mother's Day 5/7/2011 with vase. The vase was too large and too tall; most of the roses were too small. I have received flowers from Pro Flowers in the past and was satisfied. I carefully followed directions upon opening the package. This time really very very disappointed. I hope the chocolates are better! What has happened??? What can you do to reimburse my daughter? Appease me? They were sent to me M. Morey in Painted Post,NY by J.Picardi in Vienna, VA. Is the company doing anything about all the complaints?

ProFlowers review in Albany, New York: Pro-Flowers

My Son ordered me a Balsam type tree for Christmas adorned with lights. It arrived in a box, basically dead and totally by the end of the week. Called Cus Service , said they would send something else. I got a 'spike' you would plant with your Summer basket, that also on its last legs and dead by weeks end. He spent close to $100 the spike can be bought for $3-4 in the Summer. Though my other Son sent me 'Bulbs' from that company and they bloomed in the spring. Skip this company and save, Live Flowers through the mail just don't survive. Go to your Florist to see what you are actually getting.

ProFLowers.Com .... What a rip off! Don't Do It!!

I bought a Bouquet of flowers for my wife for Valentines day. The bouquet was 39.99 for what was pictured to be a nice, big, full bouquet of roses, daisies, and assorted flowers. After the final order was placed, the final bill was $77.97!!! I figured..."Its for my wife and if it looks like it does in the picture it will be worth it". WELL, it wasn't...what I got looked like a $9.99 bouquet that you would buy at the local grocery store. It had 5 red roses, about 10 pink dasies and a whole lot of greenery. I was told "There is a disclaimer that requires us to fill the order the best we can if we don't have what you ordered in stock". I guess they were out of flowers then...because they substituted them for the greenery. So, $39.99 for the bouquet.....$11.99 Holiday Surcharge????? and $25.99 Service Charge????? and all I got was a $9.99 arrangement and a cheap vase that I could easily have bought at Dollar Tree. I took pictures of what I got and sent them to their Customer Service. They offered to refund me my $11.99. WOW...how generous. When I complained further...they gave me a $10.00 voucher towards a future purchase. Wasn't that thoughful. No Thank you! Keep your voucher...I'd rather let the world know what a bunch of scam artists you are. Thanks for reuning of of the only holidays I have been able to enjoy with my wife after 20 years in the U.S. Marines and being deployed nearly all of them over the past years. Thanks a lot. I couldn't have been more embarrassed when my wife got that pile of garbage. I looked like the biggest cheap skate!

they do it every year, plus they find a new way to rip you off. the last few years they have been doing the easy saver scam. their 'fresh from the grower' flowers are trucked to regional warehouses.

if you want to start getting back at them: look for their google ads and click on one per day.

they also do business as proflowers, berries.com (shari's berries), red envelope, cherry moon farms, click on each companies ad once per day

I placed an order for Mothers' Day and was charged by Encore at the same time. First for $1.95, then $14.95.

STAY AWAY FROM PROFLOWERS. I should have expected this shady practice when I say how much they gouged me on other fees.

My initial $29.95 order came in at almost $60. DEAL WITH THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL.
