grocery store flowers & an old reused vase: a recent house guest sent me flowers. on a phone call that day, she asked if they came (about 3:00, promised).

i said, 'uh, no.' well, at 6:00, in houston, on a day at 95 degrees, i heard ding-dong and a 'thump' at my door. ups dumped them & they were soooo hot, i thought they were surely garbage. PLUS, it was a [fancy] box, with a vase in the bottom, and grocery store flowers at the top. directions: remove flowers, fill vase, put in one packet of flower stuff (had to search box), after an hour(?), remove flowers, cut ends, remove leaves (YOU ARE KIDDING), and ARRANGE(!!).

NOT my idea of being sent flowers. i do all the work -- these were delivery grocery store flowers with a dollar store vase. i will say -- they did revive and, i know how to arrange, but who wants to be sent flowers & do all the work.

reasonably priced for delivered flowers, but flowers cannot run around in a UPS truck in houston all day in the summer -- and that is what is going to happen. if i hadn't been home, they certainly would have been compost by the next a.m.
